NASCAR

My dad surprised me on Saturday night with tickets to the big NASCAR race at Sears Point. WOW! I never get to go to these things. I was so excited :) So we packed up our gear and food and headed to the track at 5 in the morning (and when we got there, there was already a line). We tailgated breakfast and then started our first walk around the track. We had great timing and were there for NASCAR This Morning ... were we both were on TV, and you couldn't miss me as I jumped up and down in the background! I then beat my dad in the simulators (have to take pride in that) and just watched in amazement at all the people and food and stuff everywhere. We headed back to the car to get our lunch and have a beer before the race started. The race started at 12:30 and we so crazy! I have to say it is darn loud but a lot better to watch in person then on the TV. I just thought it was GREAT! So now I can say I have done it and best of all I got to spend the entire day at the races with my dad.

2nd Anniversay

After all the festivities of the weekend, Sven and I headed to the coast for a little time away and to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. It was a beautiful, fogless, two days up on the north coast. We had a very american dinner with fries and everything up on a deck in Mendocino. We then stayed in Point Arena with a room overlooking the ocean were we slept to the sound of the waves and watched the surfers in the morning. We drove back and made a stop at Fort Ross so Sven to get a little California history in. We got deli sandwiches and headed to Duran beach were we eat and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Sven even fell asleep on the beach, that never happens :)

It was a wonderful time and I think I can say for both Sven and I that we are so excited to have gotten married two years ago!!

Chris & Kim

They're married!! I'm just so excited. The wedding was absolutely perfect. Although the weather was doubtful with rain in the forecast (this never happens in June in California). It actually was totally pouring the morning of the wedding, but as if on schedule the rain stopped, the ski cleared and they were married in a beautiful ceremony that had me crying from the time I saw Kim walking down the wet trail until I was hugging my brother after the ceremony. After the ceremony there was a fabulous boat ride around the glorious Bay. Northern Cal is just so darn pretty. The food was great the toasts even better. Really I can't say anything but wonderful things for the whole event.

Then we were on to Sunday. We awoke to FOG! Oh no! But once again the wedding couple has the best luck ever and it cleared an hour before the BBQ and was perfectly beautiful all day. My parents pulled off a wonderful party with lots of great food and drinks. The ice cream sundae bar was a hit and was also my favorite part of the day with Chris & Kim in their wedding clothes serving Ice cream to all the people in their life. So great!

I'll post picture on the website when I get a chance, there are just so many to choose from :)
