Egg Bush?

Freshmen students at Sven's University here in Gothenburg have a bit of 'orientation'. They have to do certain activities around the city to earn stamps. It's very funny to see all the students running around the city doing stupid things.

Last week we were walking to the pool to go for a swim and walked passed a number of groups of students trying to make you do things. Like one group wanted you to wash your mouth with a solution that was supposed to be good for your teeth. Then we walked passed a group where if you paid 1 SEK (about 13 cents) you got an egg to throw at a picture of Bush! There was a number of people doing it ... it was really really funny!!

Just a little sign of how much love (or lack there of) there is for Bush in Europe ...

School of Economics and Commercial Law

When I was talking with Chris I realized I haven't sent you a link to the school's website. The school in Swedish is called 'Handelshögskolan' which translates to Handels=Trade, hög=high ,skolan=the school or 'The Higher Trade School'. Trade referring to commerce. Higher is used for university level studies in Sweden.

All the pictures you see are buildings in the square that make up the business school. It's very pretty and in a great area of Göteborg.

Here's the main page.

This is the link for Graduate Business School. You can download the schedule from freshmen week which is over tomorrow from this page. I'm in the International Business program ...

day 2

It's another beautiful day here. Yesterday evening we went sailing with
Sven's friends. It was so wonderful. We sailed around the Gothenburg
harbor, with big ferries going to Germany and coming from the UK. There
was also a few sailing teams out there practicing. It was such a great
night.

Today we are looking for more apartments. Oh, and I filled out the
paperwork to get my own Swedish identification number (kinda like SSN).
Tonight we're going to hand out with Linda, and tomorrow Sven has an
interview with the president of the company that he really likes (good
thoughts).

at my university

I'm sending this email from the library of my University. It's a
really nice building that I will be in. The area is also very nice and
pretty. It's about 80 degrees outside today and beautiful. Too bad
everyday isn't going to be this nice. :)

We had lunch today with Annica and a friend. She was down here doing some
work for her dad. It was fun. We're going to an open house of an
apartment in a couple of hours. We also went to the bank to find out how
much a loan would be etc. Busy. Now I want some fika ... Sven says we're going to
sit and do that next while we call some realtors.
